Sept 30th 33 weeks 2 days

Less than 7 weeks left! I can't wait till she gets here... Really I can't wait. I am pretty done with being pregnant, and I know I have the worst probably still in front of me! I know I can hang in there, I just wish human pregnancies were 8 months rather than 9 full months! But she will come when she is ready!
Leto and I went to the doctor on Tuesday after I almost fainted teaching on Saturday. She said that the baby was fine, I just needed some extra rest, so she gave me a note for 5 days off of work. I didnt think it was necessary at the time, but now that I have had 4 days off, it has been great and very relaxing and rejuvenating. I kinda dont want to go back, but teaching helps the time pass faster, and now thats all I want!
My mom bought her plane ticket to come here! She will get to Sao Paulo on November 10th. So the baby needs to wait until then, but then she can come anytime after that! My mom will stay with Leto and I and the baby in our very small apartment until January 4th. I am very excited and thankful that she can come and help us out. It will be so nice to have her around for the hectic first months!
We have our Baby Shower on Sunday! I am very excited about it! Leto's sisters and cousin have been working very hard to organize and plan it. I know it will be amazing! It has a Hawaiian theme (just like the baby's room). I will take loads of pics and post them sometime next week.
I made some cake pops and cookies for the shower. I wont be able to eat them, but I have a couple hidden away in the freezer for when our baby girl gets here!

Leto has made some progress on his writing for the blog, but has yet to post it. Dont worry, it will come... hopefully before the baby gets here!

Lots of Love!

Sept 22nd 32 weeks 1 day

Sorry I haven't updated in 2 weeks! Time has gotten away from me!
So one week ago we had out doctor's appointment to talk about my blood results. Turns out I do have gestational diabetes. I was able to see the test result online before the doctor saw them so i prepared myself. I was super happy with my doctor's reaction. She didn't make me feel bad about it. She said everything will be ok, I just need to watch my diet. I know that my doctor in California would have made me feel horrible about it. I/we are very very happy with our doctor. She is adorable and super nice. So I have had to alter my diet. I wanted to eat healthier and now I have to! This does hurt my ice cream craving... but now it is less than 2 months to go. That's not too bad right?? I do have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day, which gets annoying. Just one more sacrifice for our baby! Cant complain!
My doctor also said that she tested for my immunity against Rubella and Hep B, both I had the vaccines for. She said that the vaccines didn't take and that I am not immune to either of them. She says I need to get these vaccines again... after the baby is born. I have never heard of this. Maybe there is something off between US and Brazilian measurements. I dont really want to get the vaccines again.
We finally found our crib. It is a crib with changing table attached and a "nanny" bed underneath. It is super cool and now my mom has a place to sleep when she gets here! The only problem is that it takes 30 working days for it to arrive, plus 7 more working days to have someone put it together. I am really missing the American way of furniture where you buy, take and put together yourself! Hopefully the crib is ready before the baby is ready to make her appearance, but we cut it really, really close!
We are slowly putting together our baby stuff. We put together our stroller, which was fun. Of course Leto did most of the work because it is almost impossible for me to get low to the ground, and then be able to get back up!
She is moving a lot, which I love. The doctor said that her head is down, getting ready! Most of her movement is above my belly button. We can feel he back or her butt a lot of the time. Leto says "Its hard!" I say "Yes I know!" The doctor said that I am also having "painless" contractions. I have been feeling them off and on for a while but I didnt know what it was. With all of the pregnancy websites out there no one really describes what a "painless" contraction feels like. It is a feeling that is hard to describe. She said that they are normal, and they dont hurt so I dont mind them.
I have been bugging Leto for about 2 months now to write something for the blog. He was hoping that I forgot, but I haven't and he says he will have something written tomorrow! So check back soon for Leto's thoughts about me being pregnant and our baby!

Here is my 32 week belly pic! Getting pretty big!
Lots of love!

30 weeks!

Today we are 30 weeks! Only 10 more to go... hopefully less... but not too many less ;-)

I had my gestational diabetes blood test yesterday... the 3 hour long test. It was not fun. I fainted and scared Leto half to death. The nurses said that it was pretty common with the prego ladies. A woman fainted right before me, and another woman came back for her 2nd try because she fainted the last time and couldnt complete the test. I was able to complete it and will get the results on the 11th.

For the last couple of days we have been prepping the baby's room for painting and today we finished it! It looks really good. Of course it isnt perfect, but it is perfect for us, and will be perfect for our baby girl! It is VERY pink, and just how I envisioned it!

I have been doing great. I am getting a little more tired everyday, but everything else is fine!

Here are some pics of the baby's room!
