Our baby is 7 months old!

Ceci turned 7 months old on Monday! The last month went really fast and that is just fine by me. That means we are even closer to going to California!

Ceci had her first Festa Junina this past weekend. Festa Junina is basically a hillbilly festival. Kids (and some adults at adult parties) dress up as caipiras, or hillbillies. Schools and churches have little carnivals and performances. It is all very cute, and because it is winter here, we enjoy some winter adult drinks such as vinho quente (a hot wine drink that is supper yummy) and  quentao (a hot cachaça (brazilian rum) drink). Leto's mother bought Ceci a cute dress and we had Leto's sister Sol take some pictures. It was a cold day so we didnt stay too long at the "festa" (party), but we had a lot of fun! I can't wait until Ceci is older and can enjoy it more!

Ceci is almost up on her hands and knees. I am hoping she waits until we get to California to crawl, so my family can be involved in some of her "firsts!" I am really excited for all of the carpeted space she will have at my sister's house and my parent's house! 

Ceci got her 7 month shot today, and after her second flu shot at the end of this month we wont need to have any more shots until her 1st birthday! I am very happy about this! I hate to see her face when she realizes what is happening. And that scream is heat-breaking!

6 months of Ceci!

 Ceci turned 6 months old in May! It's unbelievable how much she has grown and changed in the past 6 month!
Here are some of the things Ceci loves:
She loves her little walker-car. She has mastered reverse but it still trying to figure out how to go forward. She can spend up to an hour in that thing!
She loves to "talk" and "sing" at the top of her lungs!! Today she cannot stop saying dadadada
She loves pulling mommy's hair, which has caused me to get a more "mommy" haircut. It's not too short but its about 3 inches shorter than it was!
She loves TV theme songs. Beverly Hills, Big Bang Theory, Friends and Two and a Half Men, just to name a few. Whenever the theme songs comes on she perks up and turns her head.
She loves to roll over.
She loves to sleep on her stomach now, which is good and bad. Good because she is sleeping A LOT longer now, almost 7 hours last night. Bad because I freak out that she wont be able to breath. So her longer sleeping hours dont mean longer sleeping hours for me, unfortunately...  
She loves to eat new things, but seems to get tired of them after a couple of weeks.
She loves to play with her toys... We have learned that she needs a toy in the bath or she starts grabbing for things like our toothbrushes, soap and deodorant
She loves to sit and play, but we still need to watch her because she tips over if she isn't paying attention.
She loves to watch mommy and daddy eat and drink. She seems to be very fascinated by us!
At her last check up (May 25th) she weighed 9.68 kilos (21.3lbs) and 70cm (27.55in). She is the size of an average 9 month old, and a small 12 month old! We have a big girl! I can only imagine how big she will be when she is 1 year old!!

The count down has begun for our trip to California! We will be there in 31 days! I am beyond excited!
